We recommend catching app-based (Uber and 99Pop) transportation to go to Fiocruz Pernambuco. They are safe, fast and low cost. Taxi is also possible, but usually they are more expensive than Uber or 99Pop and some drivers only accept cash. If you do opt for a taxi, compare prices with Uber to make sure you are not overcharged. Ask at the hotel desk to call a taxi for you. Uber and 99Pop are often the best option.
Recife is served by the Recife/Guararapes–Gilberto Freyre International Airport (REC).
You can fly directly to Recife from Europe via nonstop flights out of Lisbon, Madrid, or Porto, while travelers from Asia or Africa will need to book a connecting itinerary, typically transferring through a major European or Middle Eastern hub.
If you are flying from elsewhere (such as North America, Asia, or Africa), you can easily reach Recife by connecting through major domestic Brazilian hubs like São Paulo (GRU/CGH), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Salvador (SSA) or Brasília (BSB).
